In the past 30 years, around 10% of the world’s forests, have been lost worldwide through deforestation. This equals an area larger than the European Union. That’s why the EU protects forests at home and beyond the boarders of our countries. With our EU anti-deforestation law, we are not allowing products that drive deforestation due to their agricultural expansion on our market.
These are namely beef, palm oil, soy, wood, cocoa, coffee and rubber. The law starts applying at the end of 2025. Happy International Forest Day!
